Abstract

This talk explores the importance of understanding network evolution within the Web3 context, marked by decentralization. I will first provide an overview of network evolution, highlighting its relevance across various domains and summarizing key findings from existing literature on both network dynamics and Web3 studies. Next, I will introduce the Graph Evolution Rules (GER) approach, detailing its application to the Web3 scenario and presenting insights gained from this analysis. By examining the evolution of decentralized networks, this talk aims to explore the complexities of network evolution in the Web3 landscape, fostering a deeper understanding of this emerging paradigm.

    HOMEPAGE

Alessia Galdeman received her Ph.D. in computer science from University of Milan in 2024, and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at IT University of Copenhagen. Her current research interests include user behavior on social media, temporal networks, subgraph mining, and Web3 platforms. She serves as a member of technical program committees and organizing committees for several international conferences, while being a guest editor of a special issue in the Applied Network Science journal. She also collaborates with/coordinates different groups of young researchers that organize seminars and/or events at conferences. She has been involved in teaching and mentoring activities in the fields of social media mining, network analysis, and machine learning.
